What materials do you use for gravestones?
Because of its incredible durability and classic appearance, we use granite for all memorials and headstones. We choose only the best grade granite available, and never use wax or artificial polish during production, leaving you with the highest quality memorial possible.
How long does it take to receive a headstone?
Standard production time is 6 to 10 weeks from the date of order, plus approximately one week for shipping. Rush orders are available for an additional fee if you need the headstone sooner. Legacy Headstones sends a digital proof for your approval before any engraving begins.
Are the designs and engraving included in the price?
Yes. Our prices include all design work, engraving, shipping, and applicable taxes.
What happens if my headstone is damaged during shipping?
In the rare event that a memorial is damaged during shipping, we will immediately send a replacement headstone at absolutely no cost to you.

Does Legacy Headstones handle the installation?
Legacy Headstones does not include installation in the price of the headstone, but installation instructions are provided with every order. If you are within 100 miles of Legacy's locations in East Liverpool, Ohio or Port St. Lucie, Florida, they can arrange installation for a separate fee. For all other locations, your cemetery can recommend a local installer. Typical installation fees range from $200 to $800 depending on the headstone type and cemetery requirements.
Can I buy a headstone online instead of through the cemetery?
Yes. Under the FTC Funeral Rule, funeral homes cannot require you to purchase a headstone from them. Cemeteries may have their own regulations, but most accept headstones from outside vendors. Purchasing online from Legacy Headstones is often significantly less expensive than buying through a cemetery or funeral home. Legacy can contact your cemetery directly to verify all size, material, and installation requirements before you order.
What information do I need before ordering a headstone?
Before ordering, contact your cemetery to get their regulations in writing. Ask about: allowed headstone types (flat, upright, etc.), size restrictions (minimum and maximum dimensions), approved materials and granite colors, installation procedures and fees, and any restrictions on accessories like vases. A QR code can be laser-engraved directly onto a headstone. When visitors scan the code with their smartphone, they are taken to the memorial page. The page can be updated anytime with new content, creating a living tribute that goes beyond what a physical headstone can hold.
